Other Potteries Operators

ARRIVA: Only one service now operates into the Potteries. This is the long established X64 Shrewsbury-Newcastle-Hanley, which operates daily on an hourly basis. A variety of single deck buses are used, and on occassion a Shrewsbury "park & ride" branded bus has appeared. D&G Coach & Bus are the largest independent operating in The Potteries from depots at Adderley Green and Crewe. The fleet is single deck featuring mainly Darts and various mini buses. WARDLE TRANSPORT are also involved in "City Rider" contracts, though all services are operated with buses painted in the Wardle livery of red & white. Of note are 3 tri-axle Olympians, imported from Hong Kong in 2004, and these are used primarily on schools contracts. From the start of the 2007/08 season, the buses have also been used on a match day Britannia Stadium contract. BAKER operate service X1 Hanley-Stoke-Stone-Stafford University hourly using VDLs with Wright bodies. Optare Solos are used the services, branded "the 9s". Two Plaxton Primos, new in 2007 for the short lived City Clipper service in Southampton, were acquired and placed in service at the start of 2008 on the Newcastle-Westlands service.
