PROCTERS are mainly a coach company, but interestingly are the only stage carriage operator to survive from pre dergulation in 1986. They have operated service 16 Hanley-Leek via Cellarhead, since 1922. Leopards only ceased to used on this route in Spring 2007. SCRAGG'S operate a long established Cellarhead-Hanley service, and a Newcastle-Stoke-Hanley-Werrington route. Although a coach operator, mini buses are used for stage carriage work. RML Travel commenced a Hanley-Birches Head service in September 2006, and added a Hanley-Penkhull-Clayton service during 2007. Early in 2008 the company commenced late night services from Hanley on Fridays & Saturdays. Mini buses are mainly used, including Optare Metroriders. ALTON TOWERS - The theme park provides buses for its employees and visitors, with picks ups at various places on routes commencing from Hanley Bus Station. COPELANDS are mainly a coach operator, and are involved in some schools contract work. In December 2006 a refurbished former PMT Dart (914), re-registered MIB783, was placed into stage carriage service. This was joined in September 2007 by another refurbished former PMT Dart (917), re-registered as MIB797.
